SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT |
| |

Use your current SCA Community

All alumni and students have access through this
account. IF you do not have an account registered
you may do so by going to http://scacommunity.usc.edu.
Current students must attend a career meeting with the
Office of Student Industry Relations before being allowed FULL access to the Job board.
Once you have attended, you will be able to search for jobs, post resumes, bios,
and cover letters and receive career related e-mails.
A schedule of dates for career meetings and one-on-one career
counseling forms are located on the SCA COMMUNITY site
under Student Industry Relations.
All Students can search for internships at any time.
You do not need any special access to view internships.
The Job board only lists internships FOR CREDIT or for PAY. For additional internships,
information on Internship classes, or to ask about non-pay, non-credit,
or international students visa internships, contact James Kim, USC SCA's Internship Coordinator at
internships@cinema.usc.edu. |

| SEARCHING FOR JOBS? |
| |
|
After signing in and getting cleared as a approved student or alumni,
you use the SEARCH link to see all jobs or search under a specific category.
Most recent listings will top the list. You will be able to see the history of
what you have applied for but not what you have searched. |

| SEARCH FOR JOBS / INTERNSHIP |
| |
|
Log in to your account you will see Jobs listed on your home page.
You can also SEARCH jobs or internships.
The JOBS page lists all available jobs -- Clicking on any one of the job titles
gives you more information about the position, and allows you
to apply for the job (you can also write a cover letter).
When you apply for the job, the employer receives your resume,
and your cover letter (if you have written one). The employer will contact
you directly if your qualifications match his/her needs. |

| APPLY FOR A JOB / INTERNSHIP LISTED |
| |
|
After finding a job or internship you want to apply for, post your
resume and a cover letter if needed, and click on the job submit
button on the search site. You will receive an auto-reply
letting you know your resume and or cover letter has been sent.
You will not get a reply from the employer at this time and they
will contact you if they want to schedule an interview or discuss the job position.
Do not attempt to contact the employer directly as they often use
this site as a way to look at perspective employees and we want to
respect their wishes to not be contacted except through the job board.
In some cases, the employer WILL have you contact them or request a resume via e-mail,
snail mail or by fax or phone. That will be clear by the job listing "how to apply".
Please correspond with employers as they have requested.
'No Calls' means DO NOT CALL and if you do, you won't get the job.

Write it a paragraph form with some key descriptions about yourself

| SEARCHING "BIO'S" |
| |
This function is here to help you search through the
database of our students and alumni.
As the job board grows so will the database.
If you, an employer, seek a Music Video Director (for example) those would be the KEY WORDS
you would search. If you find a person who you are interested in learning more about or
would like to see a resume, send us an e-mail with your request (an e-mail link and
comments box is located in the BIOs section). We must ask permission to forward any personal
information prior to sending it out and we also will respect your privacy by not revealing
your name to students or alumni. We will operate as the middlemen to help you receive
whatever information you seek. We hope you use this function and we appreciate your
understanding of the process.

| WHAT INTERNSHIPS CAN'T BE POSTED |
| |
This Job Board only posts internships for credit or for pay.
However we acknowledge that there are often times when students
are interested in learning about internship opportunities
which offer neither pay or credit. For these types of internships please contact
the USC SCA internship coordinator James Kim at internships@cinema.usc.edu.
He keeps a book of all internships of all kinds in his office for students to review.
