Buddy Halligan provides support and advice to faculty members and students in sound production, editing, mixing and in the classroom. Along with the department manager, Halligan works closely with outside vendors to procure state of the art equipment for the sound department.
Prior to joining USC, Halligan enjoyed an exciting career as the senior audio engineer at Bell Sound Studios for television, films, album projects and commercials. He has recorded numerous musical greats including Anita Baker, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Hubert Laws, Diane Schurr, Steven Stills, Barry White and many others. He has worked with eminent actors including Rodney Dangerfield, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Lemmon, Leonard Nimoy, Donald Sutherland, and Elizabeth Taylor.
Halligan has worked as a consultant and instructor for the Getty Trust, Lyon and Healy Harps, and The American Harp Society. He was given a full music scholarship to Pepperdine University for trumpet performance, and graduated with honors in 1986.
