In addition to coordinating special events, guest speakers, film festivals and movie screenings, Alessandro Ago has been known to teach two undergraduate courses for the SCA Summer Program: Transnational Nightmares and Filmmaking Italian Style. Both are production/critical studies hybrids that fuse history and theory with hands-on production assignments.
Ago lectures frequently about Italian cinema at the Italian Cultural Institute in Westwood, California. Additionally, he speaks on Italian 'spaghetti' westerns and horror films at institutions across the United States. Ago co-produced the 2006 & 2007 editions of Los Angeles - Italia: The Film, Fashion and Art Fest at Mann's Chinese 6-plex and Hollywood & Highland Complex, as well as the 2006 Capri - Hollywood Film Festival in Capri, Italy.
Both an Italian and American citizen, he remains very active within the Italian community in Los Angeles and holds a bachelor's and master's degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts' Critical Studies division.
