The USC Student Science Film Showcase & Award Ceremony

March 7, 2014, 6:00pm-9:00pm

SCI 106

You are invited to the Science Film Showcase and award ceremony for USC's  film-making competition focusing on science!

Between October 2013 and February 2014 semester, more than 135 students from a wide range of programs throughout USC have been working on a variety of film projects, in a variety of genres. 36 teams of students formed through the students' own initiative, using word of mouth and online connections. Each team's mission was to pool their talents and expertise to make an original film with a strong science component, and in so doing, discover how each other's disciplines can be used in integrating scientific concepts into visual storytelling.

The completed films are competing for prizes (1st place $3000, 2nd place $2000, 3rd place $1000, with possible honorable mentions and special prizes) to be awarded by a panel of judges. On Friday, March 7th, in an evening that celebrates all the teams' work, a selection of the films will be screened together for the first time. The award ceremony will immediately follow the showcase.

Light refreshments will be served.
