You are invited to the Science Film Showcase and award ceremony for USC's  film-making competition focusing on science!

Science Film Showcase!

For three months during the Fall 2012 semester, 100 students from a wide range of programs throughout USC have been working on a variety of film projects, in a variety of genres. 25 teams of students formed through the students' own initiative, using word of mouth and online connections. Each team's mission was to pool their talents and expertise to make an original film with a strong science component, and in so doing, discover how each other's disciplines can be used in integrating scientific concepts into visual storytelling.

The completed films are competing for prizes (1st place $3000, 2nd place $2000, 3rd place $1000, with possible honorable mentions and special prizes) to be awarded by a panel of judges. On Wednesday, January 23, in an evening that celebrates all the teams' work, a selection of the films will be screened together for the first time. The award ceremony will immediately follow the showcase.

Light refreshments will be served.
