Justin W. Rettke
Arts Laboratory Specialist
Justin Rettke was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. His entire life is dedicated to visual arts. Through Justin's childhood and teens, that energy was poured into illustration. For most of that time, Justin thought he would be a comic book illustrator. One fateful day, Justin realized that one of his drawings was actually the basis for a movie. From that point, he started the long journey that led him away from his home, family, and friends to make films in Los Angeles. Justin earned his BA from the University of Southern California in 2000. Then, he returned to earn an MFA from the production program in the School of Cinematic Arts in 2007. Today, Justin works as a director and a cinematographer. Recently, Justin reunited with his old writing partner, Chad McQuay (USC '99). They are in the early drafts of writing a feature script based on Justin's graduate thesis "The Pack."
