Student Services Advisor II
Benjamin Pola will serve as a primary academic advisor for students in our Cinematic Arts, Film & Television Production BA and BFA programs. Through academic advising, Benjamin will assist Cinematic Arts students in developing an educational road map to their academic and professional successes, while providing transitional and first-year experiential programming. In his role as Student Affairs Manager, Benjamin will also coordinate various student events and programming initiatives designed to help build SCA community and support our student body.
Benjamin was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy with a Concentration in Ethics and Public Policy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He brings with him a diverse Student Affairs background having served as an Assistant Resident Director in Residential Life and most recently, as a Financial Aid Advisor, working closely with current and former foster youth students at UC Santa Barbara. His passion for working with students is rooted in his experience as a first generation college student navigating the realm of higher education and the significant impact that student affairs professionals have had on his personal and professional growth. As a loyal television viewer and avid moviegoer, Benjamin is excited to continue working with students in this new capacity as an academic advisor in Cinematic Arts and is looking forward to helping students succeed here at USC and beyond.
