Thomas Anthony Frisina

After serving as a US Naval Officer between 1968-70, Tom started his career in consumer electronics as a sales and marketing executive with Harman International, who’s trade names Inifinity, JBL, and Harman-Kardon today remain the upper esecholon of audio components. After 12 years in 1982 he was recruited by Nolan Bushnell as CEO of Androbot, a silicon valley venture capital start-up intending to create a consumer version of the robot R2D2.

Following that he co-Founded interactive entertainment publisher Accolade with Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead of Activison. Accolade went on to become one of 6 dominate interactive entertainment companies between 1984 and 2000 when it was sold to Warner Music.

In 1988 Tom founded Three-Sixty, a development and publishing company, highly awarded, and invested in by EA and the author Tom Clancy. In 1997 EA asked Tom to wind Three-Sixty down and begin a new division within EA called EA Partners. As General Manager for the next 10 years, EAP as a product and business development unit, brought Medal of Honor, Bond, System Shock, Battlefield, Lord of the Rings, Crysis from Crytek and Harmonix to the forefront of industry pinnicale products, in total generating greater than $2B. Valve Software also joined EA as a distribution partner under Tom’s watch.

Between 2007 and 2009, Tom was EA’s Talent Development Executive, teaching at both USC and the Center for Digitial Media’s Masters program in Vancouver, Canada, under Simon Fraser University.

Starting in 2010 Tom became Chairman of thatgamecompany, past students of his at USC, and creators of Flow, Flower and Journey. He stepped down from TGC in 2012 after they left Sony and became venture capital funded. He is currently Chairman of Tilting Point Media, a new company providing leading edge marketing and development capital to the world’s most talented mobile and digital platform developers. He sits on the Board of Electronic Arts Internation, is a consultant to the Board of Bally Technologies in the casino gaming space, and is a Board Member of the Santa Barbara State Street Ballet, and a benefactor of the Music Academy of the West in Montecito California where he resides.

Tom acts as a mentor and guide to all his students, transcending the typical professor/student relationship in the class room only to one of continual interaction long after the students leave his class.
