Ian began his self-taught makeup career at the age of 16. After three years of managing the props department at the College of the Siskyous, he received a scholarship to attend the Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts in Burbank, California. After three months as a student he was invited to teach special workshops with school founder, Marvin Westmore.
Goodwin continued teaching at Westmore for two years and in 1998 founded Rogue Planet Studios. Rogue Planet is a multimedia company involved in all aspect of fiscal and digital effects as well as independent production.
He is also the co-founder of the nationwide professional makeup supply Make Up Mania with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Colorado. Goodwin continues to work as a makeup artist in the film industry but most of his work is now in the field of corporate espionage. In addition to working with several under-cover police agencies in the U.S., he also has clients in Hong Kong and Israel. But that is all he can say about that.
