Notification regarding admission will be available via the youSC online portal. Admission is contingent upon acceptance to the University. Current USC transfer students will receive notification from the School of Cinematic Arts directly. Any additional information from the School or University will be sent to the current address listed on an applicant's application for admission.

The estimated timeline for notification is as follows:

Fall:

  • Freshmen Applicants: April 1st
  • Transfer Applicants: June 1st
  • Graduate Applicants: mid-March

Spring:

  • Graduate Film & Television Production Applicants: mid-October
  • Current USC Transfer Applicants: mid-October

Confirmation Form and Deposit:
All admitted students will be required to submit an online confirmation form accepting their position in the program. This form will be sent via email to the email address provided on the application for admission. In addition, most graduate applicants who are offered admission will be required to pay a non-refundable commitment deposit to the School of Cinematic Arts by a specific deadline. This deposit is submitted along with the online confirmation form and is non-refundable, but will be credited to the student's fee bill prior to the start of the semester.

Additional Information:

  • Each year, we strive to develop a well-balanced cohort of students for each of our programs. As such, we do not grant admission deferrals and we recommend that applicants apply for a future term when certain they can accept admission.

  • Undergraduates are required to submit an official transcript that verifies high school completion.

  • Graduate students are required to submit an official transcript that verifies their bachelor's degree (or equivalent) has been conferred.
    • International students are required to complete the University's Degree Verification process-more information about this process can be found here.
