Desperate to experience emotion, an offbeat young woman regularly attends the funerals of strangers. When she meets a man who is mourning his fiancee, she finds herself connecting to someone for the first time, only to discover that perhaps she's not the only one with dark secrets to keep.

Two writers must face a dilemma that is common to anyone who has ever had an artistic friend: what happens when you have to give feedback, and the news isn't good? Written and directed by SCA alum Russell Brown.

09/27 -- Skid Row 7:00 P.M. in Norris Theatre.
Eight miles from Beverly Hills, Skid Row has the highest rate of violent crimes on the west coast. On any given day, there are 80,000 homeless in L.A. county. Over 11,000 live on the streets of Skid Row. Over 5,000 are under 18. For nine days, Pras Michel will be one of them.

10/02 -- Dare 7:30 P.M. in SCA 108.
Dare follows three teenagers through their last semester of school: Alexa, the smart, good girl who longs to break out of her shell; Ben, the lonely outsider dealing with his sexuality; and Johnny, the rich, seemingly perfect badboy who has everything.
10/04 -- Death Calls 3:00 P.M. in SCA 108.
Christina was an illegal immigrant and on the run. Worse yet, she was on the run for murder. She had just shot a policeman, killed him in fact with another policeman's gun. Was it all real? She knew it was. She could hear them close behind, tramping through the forest...
10/04 -- No Time to Fear 6:00 P.M. in SCA 108.
On an overdue camping trip, a group of life-long friends decide to change their lives by moving from California to the East Coast. The trip ends abruptly for Celine, Jake, Derek, Rachel and Nate when Nate shoots an ominous statue hidden in the woods.
12/06 -- American Primitive 4:00 P.M. in Norris Theatre.
Everybody in Dennis, Cape Cod thinks that Harry Goodhart is quite the catch. Harry, a handsome Englishman, has just moved to this seaside destination with his teenage daughters, Madeline and Daisy. Madeline and Daisy, however, are determined to keep their recently widowed father away from the swarm of female suitors.
ABOUT THE SCA ALUMNI SCREENING SERIES
During fall 2009, the SCA Alumni Screening Series will host a wide array of film screenings and filmmaker Q&As, highlighting recent work by our SCA Alumni. These screenings will be hosted in various SCA venues, including Norris Cinema Theatre, as well as SCA 108 and SCA 112. All screenings are free to the public but will require an electronic reservation, which can be made through the website for each individual screening. Many screenings will be overbooked to ensure that capacity is met in the theater. Some screenings will be run from digital sources.
ABOUT CHECK-IN & RESERVATIONS
All screenings are free of charge and open to the public. The theaters will be OVERBOOKED to ensure capacity and the RSVP lists will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no reserved seating. Please bring a photo ID or print out of your reservation confirmation, which will automatically be sent to your e-mail account upon successfully making an RSVP through this website. Doors will open at 30 minutes prior to showtime, unless otherwise stated.
ABOUT PARKING
The USC School of Cinematic Arts is located at 900 W. 34th St., Los Angeles, CA 90007. Parking passes may be purchased for $8 at USC Entrance Gate #5, located at the intersection of W. Jefferson Blvd. & McClintock Avenue. We recommend parking in outdoor Lot M or V, or Parking Structure D, at the far end of 34th Street. Please note that Parking Structure D cannot accommodate tall vehicles such as SUVs. Metered street parking is also available along W. Jefferson Boulevard.
