Freshman Wins ACLU Prize

Bryanne Cooke's "Big Brother" PSA

Bryanne Cooke, an incoming freshman in the production program, recently placed as a runner-up in the humor category of the American Civil Liberties Union "Stand Up for Freedom" PSA contest. Her video entitled Big Brother, netted a $500 prize.

Now in its third year, the StandUp Contest challenges young people between the ages of 17and 29 to get creative about defending their rights. This year, contestants produced video PSAs and audio podcasts about the ways that the government is abusing its power.
