Clermont Festival

Festivals Office Can Assist With Submissions

The Festivals and Distribution department in the school's Student-Industry Relations Office highly recommends that students apply to the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, taking place from February 1 to 9, 2008.

The School of Cinematic Arts will be present and actively promoting all USC films at the festival, which will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the national competition and the 20th anniversary of the international competition.

The deadline for international submissions is October 15. Students wishing to enter their films via the SCA Festivals and Distribution department will need to contact Associate Director Allison Melanson festivalsassistant@cinema.usc.edu, who will mail the applications on October 1.

If you have any questions or require assistance, you may contact Festivals and Distribution Director Sandrine Cassidy scassidy@cinema.usc.edu. Cassidy asks that any students who are directly applying to the festival contact her so that she can know what USC films will be there.

Cassidy also recommends that students who apply to the festival also be sure to send an extra screener to the market so that the film will get the greatest exposure there. It is also a good way to get festival programmers or broadcasters see and pick the film.

For more information and the application, please visit the festival's application page.
